Self-care/Stress Management Group starting soon!
We will be offering a Self-care/Stress Management group in October and are excited to offer this service to women in our community. I wanted to provide information on what to expect from this group.
Details: This 8-week group meets once a week (Thursdays) for 90 minutes (5:30-7 pm) beginning October 3, 2019. There will be a maximum of 12 participants. The group will take place at Becoming Balanced and will be facilitated by Trishia Powell, MSW/LCSW.
Topics covered will include: relaxation, stress management, mindfulness, enjoyable activities, negative self-talk, problem solving, communication, and lifestyle changes. Learning about and practicing skills in these areas is important in working toward overall improvement in quality of life.
Group Psychotherapy vs. Individual Psychotherapy: The idea of joining a group can be scary and intimidating for some. A group can act as a support network and members can provide feedback for one another. Through discussions in group, one may feel less alone and recognize that others have similar struggles. Just as with individual psychotherapy, there are rules regarding confidentiality amongst all group members and the group facilitator.
Payment: Group services will be submitted to your insurance company for payment. For insurance companies to pay for the visit, each group member needs to have had a diagnostic evaluation with Becoming Balanced, P.C. If you do not have insurance, there are also self-pay options. If you are not a current client of Becoming Balanced, P.C. and would like to attend the group, you need to call (701) 551-1840 to schedule a diagnostic evaluation with Trishia Powell, MSW/LCSW or Desiree Zielke, PhD prior to October 3, 2019.
Can you do a prior authorization to see if my insurance will pay for it
Hi Laura. We are checking everyone’s insurance to see who has benefits for group. If you have questions regarding what your responsibility would be, we would encourage you to contact your insurance company directly, as we do not have exact numbers on that. Please call our office if you have further questions or want to get registered for the group.
