Telehealth and managing anxiety

Becoming Balanced is now offering telehealth services to anyone who does not want to come to the office for their appointment.  In order to participate in telehealth services, there are a few things you need to do.
  1. You must have a secure internet connection and use a device with a camera and microphone.
  2. You must activate the Patient Portal through Kareo.  This is how the link to the telehealth session will be sent to you.
  3. You will be sent an Informed Consent document through Kareo specifically for telehealth that needs to be submitted before your telehealth appointment
Things to keep in mind about telehealth:
  • It is important to have a quiet, private area to engage in the session.
  • You will be asked to verify your location and other information at the beginning of each and every session.
  • We will be using a HIPAA compliant telehealth service so your information will remain protected and confidential.
It has been a stressful week with schools closing, people needing to work from home, and some increased anxiety about illness.  It is more important than ever to focus on engaging in stress management strategies each day.  These strategies will help you feel less stressed and also help with boosting your immune system.

It is hard to practice social distancing when we as humans are very much social creatures!  Make sure you are reaching out to loved ones through video or phone calls.  We will continue to try to focus blog posts on managing the emotional impact of social distancing and the various changes happening in our daily routines that have been quite unexpected.  Take care!
